BE 2012 SBE and Vmware

Hello,

Can you please assist with the following senario.

One host running vmware 5.1 with 2 virtual servers which include SBS 2011 and 2008 R2. Backup to Tape on host.

Will the SBE of Backup Exec protect this senario or is a vmware agent required?

I have read conflicting information which states that vmware guest is supported and other information that only hyper-V is supported.
