I need a solution
Backup Exec 2012 SP3 running on Windows Server 2008 R2, fully patched, everything 64 bit, backing up four Windows Server 2008 R2 servers (including itself) and a VMware ESXi 5.1 host running a mix of Windows and Linux VMs. Backups of VMs running Windows XP are emitting this warning:
V-79-57344-38732 - Virtual machine '\(DC)ha-datacenter(DC)\vm\calypso_testvm-Mail1' does not meet the requirements necessary for Backup Exec to restore individual application items. You cannot perform GRT-enabled restores of application data from this backup.
I found postings here stating that GRT is not supported when backing up Windows XP VMs, but they refer to Backup Exec 2010. Does that limitation also apply to version 2012?
