Hi All,
I'm having a problem with Backup Exec 2012, where I am unable to convert my backups to virtual disks. Our organisation currently use Microsoft's Hyper-V to manage our virtual infrastructure. The idea was to do our full backups then convert the critical systems to virtual images for disaster recovery. I have managed to successfully convert the last of the 2003 estate to virtual but any 2008 server fails with the following error: Failed to format a volume from the virtual disks.
I have exhausted my troubleshooting list with this one and am now seeking help from the experts :).
Setup
Server 2008 (Has Backup Exec installed with two tapes drives attached)
Server 2008 R2 (which is the Hyper-V server)
Server 2008 (Domain Controller, used for conversion testing).
All equipment is HP ProLiant and our backup method is currently Fulls every Friday and Diff's the rest of the working week, all backups are transferred to LTO tapes.
Any ideas as to why this is failing would be much appreciated.
Darren
